What is the Difference Between the Dashboard and the Console in a Car?
The dashboard, which spans the width of the car and is situated behind the steering wheel, is the front panel of the interior cabin. It contains information displays, controls, gauges, instruments, airbags, and other safety measures. The console, also called the center console, protrudes from the dashboard between the front and driver's seats and, in certain cars, frequently reaches the back seats. In addition to amenities like armrests and connectivity ports, it also offers storage areas and extra controls. The dashboard focuses on displaying driving information and essential controls, while the console emphasizes convenience and accessibility, offering storage and secondary controls for both the driver and passengers.
