Both. Cars have both rims and wheels, and they are parts of a wheel assembly. To better explain them, let's break them down:

Wheels

The full circular metal parts that attach to the axle of the car are called the wheels. They consist of the wheel center or the piece that connects to the axle, and the rim, which is the outermost section of the wheel.
Rims

The rims, which are the outside circular portions of the wheel, are in charge of keeping the tire in place. Rims can change the appearance and performance of your GM car because they come in a variety of sizes, patterns, and materials.

Brakes and Brake Pads: The car stops and slows down with the help of its wheels and brakes. By applying hydraulic pressure to the brake calipers when you press the brake pedal, the brake pads are compressed against the rotors. The friction between the pads and rotors slows down its rotation, which slows or stops the car.
Suspension System: The car's suspension system, which consists of parts like shock absorbers, struts, control arms, and springs, is connected to the wheels. The suspension system is essential for a comfortable ride, controlled handling, and tire contact with the pavement. It also helps to dampen shocks and vibrations caused by the road's surface.
